Thank you for taking interest in our program! We are a family of five and when we say that our program is our passion, we mean it! Our motto is consistent — from our purebred herd of 150 head to our ever-growing commercial herd — we aim to raise cattle that work as hard as you do. As a third-generation farm, we are committed to growing the legacy of our herd. Here at C2, you are part of that legacy and will always be treated as such. If you can, swing by the farm in La Riviere and catch some of the beautiful views here in the Pembina Valley of southern Manitoba, Canada. You are always welcome to tour our herd or call us to just talk cattle!

The Heart Of Our Operation

C2 Charolais was created under the influence and mentorship of my aunt and uncle, Lloyd and Lorraine Cavers at Neepawa, MB. Lloyd is my ultimate mentor and quite frankly my idol. We strive to conduct our business in the same way that Cavers Charolais and Riley’s Red Angus was known for; being honest, hardworking and putting quality before quantity. We value our animals and the land they live off. By practicing and adapting an intense, rotational grazing plan, we have been able to increase our grazing capacity on 2 different restricted land bases near our farm. These pastures are capable of retaining more moisture, show better weed control and have allowed more species of native grasses to return. The actual number of grazing days has risen significantly since we incorperated this practice.

Jackie and I with our three boys make this cattle farm run. We all take part in every aspect of this cattle operation; from pail feedings, tractor chores, making/cutting hay, baling, marketing, showing cows to mucking out the stalls in the barn (this is good for the soul!!), we are all in this together… and love it! We work hard to make sure you are receiving the best product possible for your cattle business and family. As a family we do try to find that important balance between work, play and community. Cattle shows, volunteering and 4H is how we have fun doing business.
